MediCross Healthcare non-sting barrier wipes are impregnated with silicone resin that rapidly dries on the skin leaving a clear, odourless moisture proof film that provides protection and a suitable surface for the application of adhesive devices.

This gamma sterilised product is continually finding new applications within the general wound care area where its ease of application and confirmed sterility from a single use device provides an ideal application base. This easy to apply film can be used as additional covering, providing extra protection for minor wounds and abrasions that need to have constant dressing changes. The film creates an excellent barrier between the sensitive skin around the wound site and the adhesive of a dressing, without detracting from the adherence performance of the dressing itself.

The protective film provides help to avoid additional trauma to a sensitive wound site when dressings are removed for, injury inspection or replacement of soiled dressings.

Application

MediCross Healthcare non-sting barrier film is presented in a single sterilised sachet containing a non woven wipe presoaked with the optimum level of liquid film. On application the silicone solvent will rapidly evaporate leaving a clear protective film in-situ. The film can be replaced quite easily by a second application or by using MediCross Healthcareís non-sting strapping adhesive tape remover.
