| MediCross DSA is designed to control
the viscosity of discharge fluids within the drainage pouch. This
is achieved by the patient inserting a sachet of the product into
the drainage pouch when it is being changed. The sachet is designed
to fit through the aperture of all devices without difficulty.
Contained in the water soluble sachet there are super absorbent
granules in sufficient quantity to gel 450gms of discharged waste
materials. The increase in viscosity occurs continually as the pouch
receives discharge without increasing the volume of the pouch contents.
The superabsorbent solidifying agent is non-toxic with no known
skin sensitisation properties from continuous usage.
Application: One Sachet administered during pouch changes
Benefits to Patients
- Reduces pouch expansion and therefore facilitates a better
body conformance of the device.
- Reduces the potential for leakage thus increasing patient confidence
- Facilitates the emptying of the pouch in certain circumstances
- Reduces the potential for odour by binding the contents
- Can reduce noise emanating from the pouch during use.
